RIP/trap/impose options upgrades for computer to plate

I'm looking for suggestions and opinions for an OSX compatible back end workflow. We're completely CTP and the company is looking to streamline as much as possible. Can anyone please help me out? Currently the graphic editors send EPS files to a Scitex Brisque, which RIPs, traps, and sends CT/LW files to Page Composer. Page Composer then combines the CT/LW files into a PDF, which is then imposed using Creo Preps 4.2.

The first thing on the list is to upgrade or get rid of the Brisque stations. We have 4 of them and they're all Brisque 3.0. They haven't been upgraded in any form or fashion since at least 1998 and we haven't used an image setter in over 3 years. All we really need is something to RIP and trap individual EPS or PDF page files. Any ideas? I know that this is generally something that the printer would handle, but our management team prefers to keep that control in-house.

The second item is whether to upgrade Preps to an OSX compatible version, or replace it. We are currently only sending imposed files to a couple of printers, the rest receive loose files. The main use for the impostion software is for a final proof step. We currently have 5 stations in use.
