Hello, Welcome to the Prepress forums. The comprable platesetter device from Kodak/Creo is the Kodak magnus 400. It is an external drum thermal device and is simply not a comprable device in terms of time proven service in the field. I have read reports from users here that they are continually having slip sheet removal problems and such. Additionally it is from Kodak who will give you a higher cost of maintenance and nickel-dime you to deth.
The platerite device through DS Screen or Fuji is head and shoulders a better decision than Kodak magnus 400. You are looking at the best device out there and IMO should compare some pricing and proceed.
With regard to Rampage, this is a RIP platform with many problems in its trapping engine right now. I would look at the Xitron Xenith Xtreme as the best price/performace option to put in front of the Fuji Dart, or DS Screen PlateRite PT-R 4300.
