We have 3 DocuColor 250's with external Fiery controllers. We are having various color issues and have many questions. Xerox has been ZERO help with solutions/answers to our color issues. In summary: 1. We will print a job for a customer and they will order a reprint (from the same files) 6 months later. Sometimes the reprint color is noticeably different from the original print, regardless of which of the 3 printers we use. These giant printing companies who have bought. sold, liquidated, closed so many other printers deserve to go broke. I would really not expect it to do 4 color registration work. From what I have heard, people are using it for one and two color work. If you are a serious enough printer that you have a heidelberg, you should look at a real serious CTP system that compliments it. I just don't think this jetplate stuff is of a comprable quality and nature to a Heidelberg press of any size. I welcome any users of that system to post their success stories and or experiences with that system, but from what I see and read, external drum thermal laser CTP is really what is needed in any quality printing endea... - Read More at This Link..

Hi Cleveland, Yes, it's pretty insane. I am picturing these giant pieces of film as a real problem to output, store, and manage. Largest film output I have really used was an Avantra 44. 1000 sq.ft. a day is nothing new for me and have output a billion ffet of film, but this size is really interesting. We are planning on about 1000 sq. ft./day till we get a new CTS (computer to screen) unit. The Luscher CTS is called a jetscreen and we'll be getting one in a year or so. Hello there, first post for me. Last week a Guy crashed his car into the darkroom destroying everything but the safe-light. So, thanks to insurance, it is time to enter the 21st century. I have three Multi's needing plates;1218, 1650, and 4620. I realy only do one and two color prints from poly plates. Any recomendations for a small, simple CTP? would a kimosetter do it or will I feel limited by it's capabilities? - Read More at This Link..

Hi all! Well first let me say HI to everyone. i am using an Express RIP with TrapPro lite and it seems that the Mag plate always fans out i believe it might be the unit on the press because i use the magenta settings on alot of the spot colors we use here and never see a problem with. back when i stripped film it was an easy method to fix it that with a piece of mylar, as of right now i do not know what to tell them accept to get it in register and stop crying. if you know of any extra tricks on this please be kind and help out. thx in advance _ can't we just use... - Read More at This Link..
