Graphic Design Forum :: Xerox DocuColor 250 - Color Issues
We have 3 DocuColor 250's with external Fiery controllers. We are having various color issues and have many questions. Xerox has been ZERO help with solutions/answers to our color issues. In summary: 1. We will print a job for a customer and they will order a reprint (from the same files) 6 months later. Sometimes the reprint color is noticeably different from the original print, regardless of which of the 3 printers we use. What can we do with the original printing to ensure that we can consistently reprint many months later? 2. We would like the printing on o... - Read More at This Link..

RE: PlateRite 8600 S vs Magnus 800 decision Hello, This is a very easy decision it seems to me. Your experience with the Kodak failure is not a fluke but a direct example of the Screen/Fuji vs. Kodak solution in an 8-up format. The DS Screen PlateRite line is the best CTP system there is to date. There are more units of this design and are more proven than any other CTP design to date I believe. So, the Magnus is simply not as well designed, tested, proven, period. That's why your Kodak Magnus 400 failed in comparison to the DS Screen 4... - Read More at This Link..

Hello, Yes, this is the beauty of the DS Screen imaging technology. One is redundancy of being able to continue AFTER and DURING a laser failure. Two is that the low cost of the modular parts is a few hundred bucks. Three is that the speed is increased without speeding up the cylinder rotation so fast, just get an array with more lasers to image. The balance of the machine stays good because you don't have to spin the drum as fast as a Creo/Kodak CTP. DS Screen started using this method of multi-laser arrays on their external drum film ... - Read More at This Link..

Computer To Plate :: simple CTP Recomendations?

Computer To Plate :: simple CTP Recomendations?
Hello there, first post for me. Last week a Guy crashed his car into the darkroom destroying everything but the safe-light. So, thanks to insurance, it is time to enter the 21st century. I have three Multi's needing plates;1218, 1650, and 4620. I realy only do one and two color prints from poly plates. Any recomendations for a small, simple CTP? would a kimosetter do it or will I feel limited by it's capabilities? - Read More at This Link..
